Produsen Game Final Fantasy Ajak Developer Indonesia

Masyarakat Industri Kreatif TIK Indonesia (MIKTI) dan salah satu pengembang game terkemuka di dunia Square Enix meluncurkan kompetisi untuk mencari ide dan mobile game terbaik dari Indonesia berbasis Android, platform smartphone paling populer saat ini. Yang menarik, Square Enix memilih Indonesia sebagai negara pertama untuk menggelar kompetisi ini.

"Kami sangat senang bisa menggelar perlombaan ini di pasar yang tumbuh begitu pesat," tutur Keiji Honda, Executive Vice President and Representative Director Square Enix dalam siaran pers yang diterima Kompas.com. "Kami sudah survei ke Malaysia, Singapura, Thailand, Vietnam, dan Filipina, tapi kami justru tertarik dengan Indonesia."

Perusahaan yang berkantor pusat di Tokyo itu merupakan penerbit games-games laris macam Final Fantasy yang terjual 100 juta unit di seluruh dunia, Dragon Quest terjual 58 juta unit di seluruh dunia, dan Tomb Raider yang terjual lebih dari 35 juta di seluruh dunia.

Perusahaan raksasa ini sangat terkesan dengan pesatnya pertumbuhan games di Asia. Tahun 2009 saja penjualan games di negara-negara Asia, termasuk China dan Indonesia, sudah mencapai angka Rp 88 triliun atau sekitar 70 persen dari pasar games dunia. Bahkan penjualan game-game berbasis mobile diperkirakan akan mencapai Rp 10 triliun tahun ini.

Rencananya, Square Enix akan mengucurkan dana untuk memasarkan games-games karya anak-bangsa tersebut ke pasar Indonesia dan belahan dunia lainnya. Square Enix akan memasarkan mobile games hasil kompetisi tersebut di Indonesia terlebih dahulu sembari melihat peluang untuk masuk ke pasar-pasar negara lain. Yang unik, para pemenang akan tetap memiliki hak cipta karyanya.

"Dalam kompetisi ini pemenangnya akan bisa terus menikmati jerih kreatifitasnya melalui royalty yang akan mereka terima setelah dipasarkan Square Enix," kata Sekretaris Jenderal MIKTI, Hari Sungkari.

Kompetisi dimulai 1 Agustus 2011. Penjurian akan dilaksanakan di Jakarta tanggal 19-22 September, dilanjutkan di Tokyo, 23-27 September. Juri akan memilih 10 ide games terbaik serta 3 games terbaik untuk mobile phones berbasis Android, OS paling dominan di dunia saat ini. Tiga Games yang sudah jadi dan 10 ide games terbaik akan dipersembahkan dalam acara ICT Award di Jakarta, 4-5 Oktober nanti.

Para pemenang dan MIKTI akan bertindak sebagai pengembang sementara Square Enix akan menyediakan total hadiah sebesar Rp 90 juta, sebagai dana awal. Selain itu mereka juga akan bertindak sebagai Publisher (Penerbit), termasuk membiayai pemasaran dan distribusi games pemenang di Indonesia dan ke seluruh dunia.

Untuk mempromosikan kompetisi ini, MIKTI akan menghadirkan Takashi Tokita, Produser Square Enix yang baru saja meluncurkan game Final Fantasy Legends untuk mobile phone. Wow, 19 "Game" Lokal Dibuat Hanya dalam 2 Minggu

Ternyata memang peluang pengembang Indonesia untuk menjadi tuan rumah di pasar aplikasi sangat besar. Sembilan belas aplikasi mobile game dihasilkan dari workshop selama dua minggu oleh orang-orang yang masih mempelajari teknik pembuatan aplikasi semacam ini.

Menurut siaran pers yang diterima Kompas.com dari Agate Studio, ke-19 aplikasi tersebut merupakan buatan para pengembang pemula yang mengikuti workshop (lokakarya) pembuatan game yang dilakukan Nokia dan Agate Studio di Bandung. Kontes game development war pun dilaksanakan pada akhir lokakarya, tanggal 31 Maret 2011 di Hotel Hilton, Bandung. Kompetisi ini diikuti oleh 10 finalis lokakarya yang dipilih berdasarkan mobile game yang dikembangkan.

Selain finalis dan peserta lokakarya lainnya, acara ini juga dihadiri oleh praktisi IT, mahasiswa, dan dosen dari dalam dan luar kota. Sepuluh tim finalis terpilih mempresentasikan mobile game hasil lokakarya selama dua minggu di hadapan lima juri yang kemudian memilih tiga tim terbaik.

Selanjutnya, ketiga tim diminta untuk memperbaiki mobile game mereka dalam waktu satu jam saja. Proses improvisasi ini ditonton secara langsung oleh semua hadirin di kompetisi ini. Juri kemudian memutuskan urutan juara dari hasil improvisasi tahap akhir ini. Tiga tim memperebutkan hadiah laptop Alienware dan ponsel Nokia E7 untuk juara pertama, ponsel Nokia E7 dan N8 untuk peringkat kedua, dan ponsel Nokia N8 dan C7 untuk peringkat ketiga.

Pemenang dari kompetisi ini adalah Yuandra Ismiraldi dan Paramita Hapsari dengan aplikasi bernama "School Escape". Mobile game yang bertipe maze ini memiliki konsep yang orisinal dengan gameplay yang menarik.

Selain itu, pengembangan game ke depan pun masih sangat prospektif karena memiliki berbagai elemen yang dapat diimprovisasi. Aplikasi-aplikasi para finalis lokakarya ini akan segera diluncurkan di Ovi Store agar dapat dimainkan dan dinikmati oleh semua kalangan.

Game Development Workshop dan War ini tidak hanya seputar memperebutkan hadiah atau gelar juara. Banyak peserta yang mengaku telah menemukan jalan untuk menekuni sebuah bidang yang sangat dinikmati, yaitu pengembangan mobile game. Melalui lokakarya ini pula banyak ilmu baru yang didapat. Bahkan, ada peserta yang bertekad untuk terus mempelajari dan mengembangkan game-game lainnya setelah mengikuti lokakarya.

Pasca-lokakarya, para pengembang pun masih bisa terus menjalin komunikasi dan bertukar ilmu lewat Forum Nokia dan situs khusus yang disiapkan untuk itu, yaitu NICE (Nokia Indonesia Community Enthusiast), sebagai wadah bagi para pengembang lokal. (kompas.com)

Kegiatan belajar mengajar dengan memanfaatkan TIK semakin menarik. Kian banyak juga tenaga pengajar yang kreatif melakukan berbagai inovasi dalam mengajar, salah satunya dengan mengembangkan game.

Nah, para pengajar atau Anda yang tertarik mengembangkan game untuk edukasi, bisa memanfaatkan ini, Kodu, sebuah bahasa pemrograman visual baru untuk membuat berbagai game.

"Di dalamnya ada bermacam tools untuk memudahkan para guru yang kreatif dalam TIK mengembangkan game edukasi yang bisa dipakai dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar," kata Academic Program Manager Microsoft Indonesia, Ananta Gondomono, Kamis (24/3/2011).

Disebutkannya, Kodu yang dibuat oleh tim Microsoft, merupakan salah satu bagian dari program Partnership In Learning Microsoft yang mendorong para guru menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan dengan pemanfaatan TIK.

Salah satu pengajar yang memanfaatkan Kodu adalah Ari Budiyanto, guru SD Muhammadiyah Jogja. Kepada detikINET, Ari yang terpilih mewakili Indonesia di ajang temu guru inovatif World Wide Innovative Education Forum, mengaku tertarik memanfaatkan tools yang ada di Kodu.

"Itu bisa digunakan membuat mapping yang menarik untuk berbagai game pembelajaran juga," tuturnya.

Dia memberi contoh, salah satu game edukasi yang dikembangkannya menggunakan Kudo adalah sebuah permainan bola. Lantas, bagaimana game ini bisa dimanfaatkan untuk belajar siswa?

"Game ini untuk pengenalan warna. Jadi anak-anak diminta memasang bola sesuai dengan warnanya. Bola itu harus dimasukkan ke gawang yang sesuai," ujarnya.

Dituturkannya, masih ada beberapa game lainnya yang dia kembangkan dari Kodu. Game-game tersebut lantas dia masukkan ke e-Learning Management Systems yang dia kembangkan untuk lingkungan sekolah tempatnya mengajar. Supreme Commander

The last year or so has seen a number of excellent real-time strategy games hit the market, from Company of Heroes to Star Wars: Empire At War. 2007 is shaping up to be no worse than 2006, though, with the impending release of Command & Conquer 3 looming large on the release schedule. 

Not content to be outshone by that game, though, Gas Powered Games has recently launched Supreme Commander, their long-awaited spiritual successor to Total Annihilation, one of the classics of the RTS genre.

Total Annihilation was launched almost ten years ago, and featured two armies of robotic units fighting across vast landscapes in an eternal war. That theme is echoed in Supreme Commander, where three factions (the United Earth Federation, the Cybran Nation, and the Aeon Illuminate) wage an Infinite War for control of the galaxy, or their own destinies. 

Human soldiers aren't employed, however; instead, each side appropriates raw mass and energy to create large numbers of automated units that wage a war by proxy while the leaders of each faction bark orders from far away. Each side does have human champions, though, in the form of an Armored Command Unit, which is controlled by a pilot, and which has the ability to create entire armies of units and structures with their matter replicator technology.

Rome Total War

Rome: Total War is the third Total War game from England's Creative Assembly, and, to make a long story short, it's the best one yet. It was naturally expected to build on its illustrious predecessors, which featured epic-scale real-time battles and impressive attention to historical realism and detail. 

Shogun: Total War was a promising start for the series, while Medieval: Total War built on that promise to create an even more engrossing strategy game.

With Rome: Total War, Creative Assembly takes the next step, and it's as much a revolutionary step as it is an evolutionary one, thanks to a beautiful new 3D graphics engine that makes the series' tactical battles--featuring thousands of soldiers--better than ever.
